Weekend at the Cabin with the Schultz'

This past weekend, we spent it at the Crystal Cabin with our friends Kara, Brian, and their son Asher.  Asher and I are the same age and are in PEPS (Mommy's Mom Group) together.  So we go way back.

We had a great time spending the weekend together.  Here's some of our best moments:

Summer in Seattle

So you wouldn't believe it if you were experiencing it, but it really is Summer in Seattle now.  Yes, despite the horrible weather we have been experiencing.  But what's even more horrible, is that means I have not posted an update for almost 3 months!  I definitely owe my fans out there some updates and pictures.  So here we go!

By the way -- I'm walking all over the place now!  Once I took my first steps, it was just a few weeks before I was giving up the army crawl in favor of my two feet.  Now Mommy has trouble keeping up with me!  Here's a sampling of my favorites pictures over the past couple months.

I'm walking!

So yesterday I took my first steps!  Mommy says the pure joy on my face was like nothing she has seen from me before...I was so proud of myself!

We practiced a lot...I can only take a couple of steps on my own right now (I'm up to 4 steps), but am having lots of fun practicing all the time.  My favorite activity these days is having Mommy or Daddy hold my hands while I walk around everywhere.  Who wants to crawl when you can get someone to help you walk everywhere?

Here's a video that Mommy took of me immediately after I walked for the first time by myself.  The video captures my 3rd time taking a few steps on my own.  Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday to me!

So last weekend was my official 1st birthday!  Friday I celebrated my actual birthday (April 8th) with a trip to the doctor's office.  Mommy didn't think anything of scheduling this on my birthday, since I did so well at all of my other immunizations.  Well, this time was different.  The shots were AWFUL!!!  I was not a happy camper for the rest of the day and dealt with high fever throughout the entire weekend.

However, I was feeling a little better by Sunday, which was my birthday party.  It was at Nona's house and everyone came out to celebrate with me!  We had a huge house full.  It was all fun and games until they decided to sing me the Happy Birthday song.  I didn't like that at all!  But once I got a taste of the cake's frosting, all was forgiven.  If I get that yummy stuff for every birthday, then sign me up for lots more!  (But just don't sing to me...).

The birthday song starts....I'm clearly not enjoying it!

Somebody make it stop!!!

Even Ethan can't distract me from this torture!!

Okay...Mommy saved me!  What is this?   I'm pretty sure I won't like it...

Well here goes...

Oh my god...I LOVE it!!! (Well the frosting anyway...didn't care much for the cake).

This is my party, and this is my loot.

Swimming...in Seattle...in April?? But it's snowing outside!

Well, last weekend it didn't snow (it was actually sunny and warm for a change!).  But this week we received a few inches of snow in the convergent zones.  But sun or no sun, Mommy started me in my first swim lessons!

That's right, she signed me and Daddy up for a weekly swim class on Saturdays.  Last weekend was my first class, and I wasn't exactly sure what to think of it.  At first I was very afraid of going in the water.  Luckily there were like 100 other babies in the class (including my buddy Asher) to distract me enough from crying (for the most part).  But by the end of my 30 minute class, I started to show a few smiles.  None of my smiles were as big as Daddy's smile, though!  He said he had so much fun with me in this class (and thanked Mommy for signing us up...despite his original protests).

This is an 8-week class, so we'll be going every Saturday for the next few months.  Then hopefully the weather will be warming up and I'll be an expert when it's time to use Aunt Jenny and Uncle Rob's pool!

Why am I wearing a bathing suit??  This can't be good....

Here we go.....

Daddy...I'm not sure about this!

Daddy, please don't make me do this!

Hmmm....maybe this isn't so bad.....

Showing off for Asher!

Where'd Daddy go?

There he is!  (Okay...so this is starting to be a little fun).

It's kinda fun swimming with Daddy!

Sunshine in Seattle

Today we got a break from our (what sometimes feels) as never-ending gloom.  The sun came out and it was beautiful!!  Mommy and Daddy decided we all needed to take advantage and spent most of our day outside.  Today was also my friend Asher's first birthday party so we spent the afternoon at his house celebrating with cake.  Asher really likes cake!

We've also included a few other adorable pictures of me from this month.  If you can't tell...I really like clothes!  (hint, hint.....Mommy says I have a birthday coming up).  :)  Enjoy!
